Meet Ruth
Hey there! I’m Ruth and I’m so glad you’re here.
My first taste of fitness was in my late teens when I started running with my sister. I remember to this day the first time we ran a half mile together - I almost threw up and swore I would never run again, ha!
Eventually, I started trying some circuit style workouts (mostly found on Pinterest) and did 4-5/week in my parent's basement until I started college - which is when I first stepped foot in a weight room. I started college with the intention of getting a music degree, but about 2 years in decided that it wasn't for me and that I wanted to pursue the passion I had begun to develop around fitness.
The real turning point was when I signed up for a fundraising relay run across the state of MN. Our team ran 15 miles a day for 12 days straight - it was one of the most wonderful and terrible things I have ever done! I realized along that journey that I would NEVER have been able to complete it alone, without the support of my team. I was amazed at what my body was capable of and how far I was able to push myself when someone was running alongside me, so I decided I wanted to be that support system for others and their big goals via coaching & personal training.

In 2018 I was diagnosed with PCOS and really started diving into hormone & gut health along with my typical fitness interests. I found that many trainers take a lot of extreme approaches when it comes to health and fitness. Many focus SO hard on their client's physical transformations (getting to a certain weight, building muscle, doing it FAST, etc) that they don't educate their clients on what some of these extremes can do to their bodies or the long term effects that many “dirty diet” foods can have on hormones, gut health, and so on.
On the flip side, I saw holistic coaches doing a great job getting women really healthy overall, but not getting them to where they'd like to be physique wise + just plain not having the education in that area. I saw a need for a middle ground trainer - someone who would use a science-based approach to help women achieve their physique goals AND ALSO educate them on how to support their long term and inner health. So I filled that gap!
I often talk about fitness coming in seasons, just like life. When I started out, running and circuits were the avenues I used to get my body moving and to kickstart my health journey. A couple of years in, I became more interested in bodybuilding and physique development. Then, my struggles with PCOS opened my eyes to the importance of supporting hormones, gut, immune health, etc through clean nutrition and smart training practices.
And NOW, I’ve taken these experiences and seasons that have shaped me, along with my professional training in the fitness & nutrition fields, and have created an approach that helps women build a strong, defined physique while educating them in nutritional best practices and helping them support their long term health along the way.
